Many people dread the cold, dark Alaskan winters, however I look forward them as an opportunity to explore the mountains on snowmachines. Pictured at the top is my 2016 Polaris RMK in flight. At the end of that ride, I felt the sled losing power. Upon investigation, my engine compression was significantly down. I tore the engine apart, replaced the scored cylinders and pistons, and the machine now runs better than ever. The black and yellow machine pictured above was given to me after being crashed in a high speed rollover. The factory hood was destroyed, so I took the opportunity to fabricate a fiberglass hood that saves over 15 pounds of weight. Being able to test these machines after working on them has taught me to optimize machines for durability and longevity, because breaking down in the Alaskan mountains is not an option.
